We manufacture and finish every item on this site.

Can we make items for you ?

The Process from start to finish.

First a master pattern is made. We can have this made by a sculptor or you can provide your own.

Then a master mould is made.
The pattern is placed between two rubber discs then heated to 150 degrees, whilst under significant compression to allow the rubber to become pliable enough to run into every detailed part of the design. After a short period this is cooled and the  mould split in half. After the master pattern is removed a  negative of the pattern is left imprinted in both sides of the mould. Sprues are cut to allow molten metal to run into the mould whilst air vents are cut allowing gas and air to escape.

A number of first off castings are made to produce a production mould. For example a production mould of our Celtic pendants holds nine castings. So for each cast from a mould nine castings are produced.

The mould is placed in a centrifugal casting machine, clamped in place and spun at differing speeds.  Molten metal  is poured into the mould  and centrifugal pressure forces it into the extremities of the pattern.  When cool the castings are trimmed and deburred to remove any sharp points.

The castings are now ready to be antiqued, plated, polished or satin finished.

COSTS

Master moulds and production moulds both cost from £40 each.

Pattern costs vary depending on the complexity of design. An uncomplicated design costs from £60. If you are unsure send us a rough sketch with sizes and we will quote you a cost. Or perhaps you are a sculptor or can provide your own pattern.

Give a rough idea of the quantities you require and a delivery schedule.
We supply customers wanting fourty castings up to the Royal Mail requiring thousands, all orders are welcome.
